Income Tax

Preparing your own income tax return can be a task that leaves you with more questions than answers. According to a study released by the US Government's General Accounting Office last year, most taxpayers (77% of 71 million taxpayers) believe they benefited from using a professional tax preparer.

Whether we like it or not, today's tax laws are so complicated that filing a relatively simple return can be confusing. It is just too easy to overlook deductions and credits to which you are entitled. Even if you use a computer software program there's no substitute for the assistance of an experienced tax professional.

How our process works...

If you are an existing client you will get an email by the end of January.  This email will include a link to a fill-in copy of our current year questionnaire.  If you don't get this emailed questionnaire or you are a new client you can print one HERE.   You will also receive a letter from us by USPS mail that will include a return envelope that you may use to mail your tax documents and completed questionnaire back to us.

You should fill out the questionnaire the best you can, also take a look at our SCHEDULES and print out whichever are relevant to you.  Also check out the CLIENT LETTER to make you aware of what other types of tax documents we need to complete your return.  If you have any questions while compiling everything please CONTACT US.  Once you get everything together you can mail it all to our OFFICE.

Once the paperwork is received by our office it will be logged into our system, and then a tax preparer will start working on your return in a timely fashion. If we have any questions while preparing your return, we will contact you using the information that you provided on the questionnaire.  We will review all returns to make sure that they are within IRS guidelines.  If you are a new client you will be contacted when the return is completed to go over any questions and we will offer suggestions if necessary.

At this point we will mail you a copy of your return when completed for your review with a request for the signature authorization form(s) to be returned to us signed by the taxpayer(s).  You MUST respond to us by returning the signed signature authorization form via fax, mail or e-mail in order for us to proceed.  At this time you will receive an invoice for our services, and the invoice is due upon receipt.  You can either mail us a check or call in a credit card payment as per the invoice.  You should retain the copy we sent to you as your client copy.   This will all be sent to you by trackable mail.

You will get your invoice from us when you get your returns.  The amount of your annual invoice is very variable from client to client.  It will depend on what forms you will need, it will also depend on the complexity of your tax issues.

No matter how much your bill is, your annual charge includes more than just tax preparation.  Included in your fee is access to our tax advice for the entire year.  You can contact us anytime for assistance with any personal income tax projections, relocation issues and any other personal income tax questions that arise.  Also included is review and advice in dealing with any taxing jurisdictions letters reguarding a return that we prepared.
